Noosa Shopping and Districts

(Noosa, Queensland - QLD, Australia)

Market photographThe main shopping strip in Noosa is without question Hastings Street, which has become something of a Mecca for shopaholics and tourists alike. Located right next to the beachfront, shops based around Hastings Street are never far from a plethora of restaurants, suiting those needing a quick rest at a coffee shop. The Bay Village resides within the very heart of Hastings Street and this arcade is home to an array of specialist shop, which surround a popular food court.

Situated just behind Hastings Street and over the hill, Noosa Junction can be reached in approximately 15 minutes by road and also offers good shopping, with a multitude of large shops and banks being located here, as well as a branch of Coles supermarket.

Where to Shop

Lying right next to the river is Noosaville, where a number of shops are concentrated around streets such as Gibson Road and Gympie Terrace. For the best selection, the Noosa Civic Shopping Centre is the place to come, opening towards the end of 2006 and housing approximately 120 outlets, together with a car park with just under 1,500 parking spaces.

Further shopping opportunities present themselves at the Noosa Marina, in the nearby suburb of Tewantin and within the villages of Noosa Hinterland, such as the small towns of Cooroy and Pomona. The famous Sunshine Coast provides many more shops to while away your time, although if your prefer local markets with more character, then two of the best are the Peregian Beach Markets next to the Peregian Beach Surf Life Saving Club (held on the first, third and fifth Sundays each month) and the nearby Eumundi Markets (held each Wednesday and Saturday morning).
