Noosa Restaurants and Dining

(Noosa, Queensland - QLD, Australia)

River cruise photographNoosa has become well-known for its multitude of restaurants and eateries, which number more than 150 and together serve up a wealth of tasty dishes, both Aussie-themed and of a more international flavour. Mediterranean and Asian dining provides something a little different than more traditional grilled steaks and barbecued seafood.

If you are having difficulty choosing where to eat out in Noosa, then simply take a stroll along Hastings Street, which forms the hub of the area's dining and shopping scene. Restaurants and cafes are especially clustered along this busy thoroughfare, with highlights include the Jasper - known for its seafood linguine, and the Cafe Le Monde - featuring Asian-style stir fries, tapas, and fish and chips.

Staged each year at the beginning on May, foodies and leading chefs regularly flock to the Noosa Food and Wine Festival, which lasts for a total of three days and comprises more than 100 different food-related events.

Where to Eat

Many local pubs in the region provide a relaxed atmosphere and a good place to enjoy some inexpensive Aussie tucker, often boasting scenic locations alongside the Noosa River. Other good choices are to be found around the Noosa Junction area, where the Lazuli Blue Cafe on the Sunshine Beach Road is a particular highlight, serving all-day breakfasts and light lunches.

In Noosaville, consider dining out at one of the tempting restaurants located along Gympie Terrace or Thomas Street, the latter of which is where you will find the unusual Mess Shed, where a 'bring your own' alcohol policy will help to keep your even out all the more affordable.

At Sunshine Beach there is a plethora of eateries standing on Duke Street, together with a number of take-away options. A meal out at the Sunshine Beach Surf Club is always memorable, where the Blue Water Restaurant boasts enviable al fresco dining and dishes such as steak sandwiches, grilled calamari and antipasto plates.
