Many of the best shops lie around the Osu neighbourhood, particularly around the magnificent Osu Kannon temple. Amongst the most popular stores in this vibrant shopping district are vintage clothing outlets, where many stylish clothes are available for just a small price.

When to Shop and Opening Hours

The main shops in Nagoya open from Monday to Sunday, between 09:00 or 10:00, closing between the hours 17:00 to 18:30. Some of the city's department stores also choose to close for one of two days each month, with the smallest shops choosing to stay close all day on Sundays.

Where to Shop

For the best shopping centres in Nagoya, head to Sakae area, close to the train station. If you are looking for souvenirs of you stay in the city, the many enormous departments stores are always a good bet, with popular choices including the Maruei, the Matsuzakaya and the Mitsukoshi stores, all of which are located in the Sakae district of Nagoya. Further department stores can be found close to the station and include Kintetsu, Meitetsu and Takashimaya.

With a vast atrium and a good selection of shops, the Nadya Park complex is worth a look.

Located in the busy business district you will find the underground Uni Shopping Mall, which boasts around 100 shops and links the Nagoya International Center. Here are the main shopping centres in the city of Nagoya, many of which offers several floors, food courts and modern facilities.
