One of the most popular museums in the Nagoya area is the Toyota Automobile Museum, where a number of important vehicles reside.

For those with a love of space, the Kakamigahara Aerospace Museum will not be disappoint and children will always enjoy the rocket exhibits.

Both enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts of air travel can appreciate this large facility, which is dedicated to highlighting the region's successes in aircraft and rocket manufacturing. Genuine aircraft are displayed both indoors and outside, and visitors are permitted to get up close and allowed to touch them. There are also a number of simulator rides at Nagoya's Kakamigahara Aerospace Museum, which provides visitors with the chance to experience the feeling of plane or helicopter flight, without ever leaving the ground.

The Toyota Automobile Museum takes a fascinating look at the history of road vehicles, with emphasis on what Toyota has contributed to the world of cars. A working replica of the first ever Toyota vehicle is on display at the museum, as well a replica of US President Franklin Roosevelt's Packard Twin-Six. A section of the museum is dedicated to demonstrating how the car has influenced Japanese life.

Little World Museum of Man

Anthropology is the theme of the Little World Museum of Man, close to Nagoya, an open-air facility that features more than 30 faithfully designed and constructed houses, representing traditional homes from 22 different countries. Visitors can enter the houses and get a genuine feel for the lives and cultures of the people who would reside in them. Restaurants offering international fare are also on-site and periodically there are shows by ethnic performers.

Nagoya City Museum

Full of antique ceramics and pottery from the area, the Nagoya City Museum offers a true glimpse into the city's past and is full of a range of local artefacts and important documents relating to the Owari area. When visiting, look out for the many scale models, photography displays and countless local treasures.
