Re. Fun for kids of all ages
Next time you can try Taman Impian Jaya Ancol. Doesn't sound like much fun, I know, but it is also a theme park that is less pricey that Kidzania and more exciting in my opinion. The traffic? Well, that's just Jakarta I'm afraid!

Fun for kids of all ages yet educational
I thought that Kidzania was just going to be my for children only but how wrong I was! All of our group enjoyed it and it was great to see my little ones having fun while learning about global topics and not just local and domestic Indonesian ones. The traffic was terrible around it though and it was a little expensive.

Re. Indonesian history retold
The National Museum takes the prize but you can also check out the Museum Bank Indonesia if you generally like this kind of thing. Be warned though that it's further out of the city at just under three miles.

Indonesian history retold
Because I'm Dutch man I have interest in Indonesia and its history - we once had it for colony. This amazing building - the National Museum - has been in its place since 1778! Ok, so there were going to be changes since then but there are great unbiased exhibits that mean this building is essential for Jakarta tourists.

A landmark neighbourhood
Our visit to Chinatown was quite moving as it still hasn't managed to fully recover from 1998 - when deadly riots saw it almost completely destroyed. Great food and shopping and everything else you'd expect to find in a Chinatown and hopefully things are going to get better in the near future.
