Qingdao has plenty to be thankful for when it comes to shopping. The main commercial districts contain more shops and department stores than you could possibly expect, with the main shopping areas in Qingdao being centred around Zhongshan Lu, Qingdao Lu and in the vibrant German quarter.

Ranging from Laoshan mineral water, tea and local beer, to jewellery, shell-crafts and high fashion, shopping in Qingdao is diverse to say the least. Shopping hours in Qingdao are long, which is typical of China as a whole. Most stores and shopping centres around the city remain open all day, every day, closing as late as 21:00 or even 22:00, although some do stick to 09:00 to 17:00 / 17:30.
