Yantai

The port city of Yantai and its many coastal attractions lie to the north of Qingdao. Home to a population approaching seven million and the biggest fishing port in the whole of the Shandong province, Yantai is situated alongside the Bohai Sea and Bohai Bay. Due to its appealing coastal setting, Yantai has become a popular summer resort and is worth searching out. The top attractions here include the Yantai Hill Park, the Yantai Museum and two sandy beaches.

Rizhao

The city of Rizhao has a population of around three million and stands in the south-eastern part of Shandong, to the south-west of Qingdao.

Rizhao is located next to Haizhou Bay and boasts a particularly attractive coastline.

Weihai

Sited to the north-east of Qingdao and with a population of approximately 2.5 million, the city of Weihai stands on a small peninsula, being edged on three sides by the seafront. Weihai is known for its busy harbour and superb coastal views, being especially close to Liugong Island. One of the main attractions within Weihai is the campus of the highly acclaimed Shandong University.
