Olympia Hotels and Accommodation

(Olympia, Washington - WA, USA)

If you are intending to pay a visit to Olympia, then it makes sense to research the accommodation available in the city and consider your lodging options. Guest houses and B&Bs provide a fairly intimate, homely experience, while chain motels, basic hotels and travel lodges generally offer the best value for money.

For many travelers, a hotel in downtown Olympia is the desired choice. For others, it is preferable to stay on the outskirts of the city, at a cheap motel with good travel connections, close to a highway.

Luxury accommodation in Olympia isn't really in great supply, with three-star hotels generally providing the best of what is on offer. Popular choices include both the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on Capitol Way North (near West Bay and the Farmers' Market) and the Red Lion Hotel on Evergreen Park Drive (close to the Thurston County Courthouse and the Interpretive Park).

Where to Stay

A popular alternative to mainstream hotels and similar accommodation in Olympia is the historic Fertile Ground Guesthouse, which enjoys an especially central location on 9th Avenue Southeast and boasts pleasant lodging with a green-eco theme, an organic breakfast and lush tropical gardens. However, for most, it is the downtown location that is the main reason to stay here, with this particular B&B being within comfortable walking distance of the Washington State Capitol Building and its giant dome.

Hotels in Olympia city center also have the advantage of being close to shops, restaurants and waterfront attractions. Capitol Way South has a number of good-value accommodation options, including hotels such as the Capitol Plaza, the Olympia Inn, the Governor Hotel and the Clarion, all of which are close to Capitol Lake.

On the southwestern side of Olympia, consider lodging around US Route 101, or to the east, just off Interstate I-5, close to St. Martin's University and the neighboring suburb town of Lacey.
