Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) is a bustling, modern facility that serves over 20 million passengers per year. A regular Metro bus service links Baltimore / Washington to the Green Belt Metro station. From there you can find Metro links which travel into Arlington.

Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) is a major domestic travel connection receiving non-stop flights from 72 destinations nationwide and serving 14 airlines. A Metro station exists on-site at the airport and provides links with Washington and Arlington.

Car Rental

All of the major car hire transport companies are well represented in Arlington. Hertz, Enterprise and others have offices at all three airports, as well as several within the city itself. Roads in Arlington are well maintained, but traffic can be quite heavy, especially during peak times.

Bus and Rail

America's national bus service is known as Greyhound and provides links between all major US cities. There are Greyhound terminals at Arlington's Rosslyn and Shirlington Metro stations, which provide mass transit to nearly anywhere in the US. Additionally, several private bus and coach travel companies have ticket offices at the Greyhound terminals.

Metrobus bus lines provide excellent transport links all over Arlington, Alexandria and Washington D.C. Those areas not served by the Metro rail have connecting Metrobus routes operating from Metro stations.

Trains

Amtrak trains travel around several routes in the capital area, as well as in the northeastern United States. The Alexandria and Washington Amtrak stations are easily accessible from Arlington by Metro trains.

The Metro rail service provides excellent transport links all over Arlington, Alexandria and Washington D.C. Metro trains are clean, reliable and efficient, offering economical travel to all major destinations in the Arlington region. One-day passes are available and allow unlimited rides for the day. During peak times, Metro trains travel as often as every six minutes.
