The humid continental climate experienced by the famous Twin Cities of Minnesota is one of cold winters and reliably hot summers. Sunny summer weather sees temperatures in St. Paul soar to more than 29°C / 84°F or 30°C / 86°F, or even higher, in July and August.

Frequently described as being continental in character, the climate of St. Paul is very much influenced by the state's location in the Upper Midwest, which provides the state capital with quite a variety of extremes, such as heat waves, thunderstorms and even the odd tornado.
