Kissimmee Neighborhoods, Locations and Districts

(Kissimmee, Florida - FL, USA)

In the past Kissimmee was known as a farming city, lying in the shadow of popular Orlando. These days, Kissimmee has become known as a theme park gateway and its main tourist districts are equally popular with visitors wanting to sample the typical Walt Disney experience, without being completely immersed in the larger city's hustle and bustle.

Visitors opting to stay in Kissimmee will find that they have the best of both worlds, proximity to Orlando, whilst also being in among local attractions and vibrant districts. Alternatively, those staying in Orlando can escape the glitz for a day and spend a little time in this slightly more sedate environment.

In terms of districts, Kissimmee is hard to break up, since it does not have distinctly obvious areas where the architecture, décor or skyline changes significantly. However, the city does have a vast number of residential neighborhoods and districts, of which there are too many to mention.

Downtown District

Kissimmee's downtown district is the center of both the city's business community and a thriving residential area. Many of the city's big hotels are situated in the downtown district.

Lakeshore Boulevard District

The Lakeshore Boulevard area is where many of the city's important monuments can be found. It enjoys a pleasant waterfront atmosphere and is considered on of the city's upmarket areas.

West Irlo Bronson Highway

The West Irlo Bronson highway area is home to a number of the city's attractions, as well as a large concentration of hotels and amenities. This area is among Kissimmee's most popular tourist zones.
