Exotica at the San Diego Wild Animal Park
We asked at our hotel what they would recommend for a good faimly day out and San Diego Wild Animal Park was recommended to us. It is in the San Pasqual Valley (on San Pasqual Valley Road) and has some huge free-range paddocks where big lions, giraffes, rhinos and zebras roam around freely. This is a big attraction and covers around 1800 acres, and was recently visited by two million people in just one year. To see the animals and their habitats, you take a 'Journey into Africa' tram tour around the park. There is a zoo area around the Nairobi Village, with smaller animals, and a tethered balloon ride offering aerial views. There were a number of places to eat, although we chose to bring a picnic, which ended up saving us quite a bit of money.

Dining in Little Italy
People describe the restaurants in the Little Italy area of San Diego as really 'offering a taste of Italy', so we thought we'd give it a try. We had a wonderful meal and there were a lot of nice looking Italian restaurants to choose from. Try to come on down here for at least one meal.

Belmont Park - a Great Amusement Park
This is a historical theme park situated in Mission Bay, on Mission Boulevard, in San Diego. The Giant Dipper is a wooden roller coaster opened in 1925 and is still a star attraction today, after being restored in 1990. There are lots of other great rides, like the Vertical Plunge and also the Liberty Carousel. There is an indoor pool with wave machine. Cane's Bar is a great place to hang out here and get a bite to eat.
