Monterey's Ansel Adams Gallery aims to help visitors develop an appreciation for the arts by celebrating photography at its finest. Guests can view a unique array of books, handicrafts, fine arts and a large collection of Ansel Adams photographs. Posters and reproductions can be bought at the souvenir shop as well as special gift items, calendars and much more. Photography workshops are arranged at the gallery and include digital imaging and traditional workshops, together with private one-on-ones.

The Monterey County Youth Museum offers a 8,500-square foot / 800 square-meter attraction filled with exhibits. All exhibits allow for interaction, for example, 'The Creation Station' has more than 70 bins filled with arts and crafts material, which guests can use in creating whatever they please. Whether your kids like cooking, building or nuts and bolts, this is a worthy stop for those with little ones. Many quality attractions are just a few blocks away, such as Larkin House, the Monterey State Historic Park, the Custom House Plaza and Colton Hall.

Featuring more than 100 life-size wax figures which have been imported from London and Paris, John Steinbeck's Wax Museum in Monterey is filled with effects and a variety of things to enjoy. Starting from the arrival of the Spanish galleons and following onto Indian villages, the tour takes visitors through the inspiration for Steinbeck's novels.
