Re. What a thrill
I'm not sure if that's the biggest actually but it could well be. If you liked that as much as it sounds you did though, you will probably also enjoy the rival park near Merida. It's a little more family-oriented too if you are taking young ones along.

What a thrill
As I am pushing 40, I really didn't expect to have as much fun as I did at Dunas - the biggest amusement park / theme park in this part of Venezuela. It felt like I was rolling back the years as I headed from one white-knuckle ride to the other and the now rather embarrassing photo of me with hands in the air on the main rollercoaster is a source of great pleasure for visitors to our home.

Las Trincheras
Been to Las Trincheras too and loved it. I think you might get even further discounts by staying in the hotel on the grounds though. I know that I paid next to nothing anyway! It might also alleviate the traffic problem as no one wants to be stuck stationary after relaxing so much.

Completely natural
It didn't take much to sell me on Las Trincheras and I managed to get a package deal with my hotel for an afternoon of enjoying the natural thermal hot springs and the spa that came with them. The only niggle I have was that it was on a freeway that was beyond traffic-jammed in the evening.

Hiking in the park for the best Valencia views
I was told that the best Valencia views are in the park - Parque Casupo. They were right, they were! Just to the west of the centre and great views once you can get up top high. Just good for hiking too though if the views don't interested you.
