How green was my valley
I've seen few things as stunning as Vinales Valley in Cuba and I challenge you not to be overwhelmed by its rural charm. A welcomed opposite to Havana that is also a World Heritage Site. I wasn't brave enough to try, but horse riding through the valley is meant to be excellent!

Re. Natural and important
Emma, there are caverns and caves to enjoy at Palenque de los Cimarrones too! There is museum, and even theme park! I didn't visit Saint Thomas' Caves same as you did, so I'm not sure how it can be, but this one I'm talking about means you can walk right through!

Natural and important
We have spent our fair share of time around the UK's countryside and have come across various caverns and caves. I can't put my finger on why, but the Cuevos de Santo Tomas caves in Vinales are just so different when compared to British counterparts but are worth a visit regardless of where you hail from.

Smaller but still worthy
Gardens as small as Jardin de las Hermanas Caridad y Carmen Miranda are always going to lose out when compared to the Vinales Valley but they still aren't half bad. This attraction makes up for its size with its lovely botanicals while being nowhere as busy as the valley can get.

Mixed opinions
We learned that Vinales is one of Fidel Castro's favourite places in Cuba and that he also demanded some of the towns cliffs be decorated with a mural - Mural de la Prehistoria. People in our group had mixed feelings about the colourful paintings of dinosaurs, slugs, and other creatures but I still think they need to be seen.
