Praia do Futuro is where it's at
Got to agree, dude. Praia do Futuro rocks! I found it be better than some of the drinking places/beaches in the famous Brazilian cities and more authentic because there weren't a lot of tourists there. Despite that, I never felt out of my depth.

Great surfing and plenty of bars
While in Fortaleza, I spent most of my time at Praia do Futuro. I enjoyed surfing in the morning and afternoon then it was back to my hotel to spruce up and get ready for an evening of hitting its bars and clubs. Great memories.

Colourful and unique theatre
The Jose de Alencar Theater's lay-out is almost as intriguing than the productions put on and needs to be seen to be believed. We ventured three miles to it from Fortaleza town centre and enjoyed a great production, albeit in Portuguese, and had a great photo taken with the charismatic cast. It now rests on our mantlepiece.

Fortaleza's best by far
We were advised by hotel staff to visit the Dragon of the Sea Cultural Center and got far more than we bargained for. While there was a museum to learn more of Fortaleza's history, there was great food and live music too in addition to cultural events that are changed regularly.

A cathedral with beautiful architecture
I am from Portugal and have family here. I took my grandmother to Fortaleza Cathedral one Sunday morning and I still remember now. It reminded me much of the cathedrals in my home country and I would recommend for anyone that likes architecture.
