The glorious Lausanne Cathedral
Lausanne Cathedral is quite a building and a record breaker at that, being the biggest in Switzerland. It's strong Gothic character is quite unmistakable and it really adds something to the overall appearance of the city. The cathedral was inaugurated in the 13th century and we chose to climb up the tower, because were told that the views were second to none. They were pretty gone I'll agree. Every hour from mid-morning to early afternoon, it is traditional for a town crier to shout here next to the tower, something that has been gong on here from as far back as the Middle Ages.

Walking around Ouchy Port
The port of Ouchy is close to central Lausanne and is a really great place to visit if you are holidaying here with your family. I came here with my wife and kids, and they enjoyed playing by the fountains around the Place de la Navigation and watching the coming and goings of the boats. We then took a boat trip to Evian and visiting the Olympic Museum. The gardens outside were really nice and there were also some good views of both the lake and the lovely Chablais mountains.
