The Medieval City Walls of Avila
The City Walls of Avila are known as the Murallas and were built in the 11th century. They are definitely the main reason for visiting this city and give it quite a medieval character. The walls are very impressive and in very good condition, and I was quite surprised at just how big they were. St. Vincent's Gate was one of the biggest and featured heavily on my holiday snaps.

Avila
I visited your wonderful city a week before St. Teresa's feast day. The trip was part of a 3-country and 9-city pilgrimage into Spain, Portugal and France. I would love to return to Avila some day.
