Rotterdam Hotels and Accommodation

(Rotterdam, South Holland, Netherlands)

Picture of central hotelsThe accommodation scene in Rotterdam is good and since this is a large city, is makes sense to either reserve your room ahead, or use one of the central resources to locate your lodging. Hotels in Rotterdam can be booked at the tourist office for just a small charge.

Alternatively, the 'Use It' central tourism outlet is a good substitute to the tourist office and is located along Conradstraat. This outlet is financed by the city of Rotterdam and targets youth travellers, being happy to assist in finding cheap accommodation where possible. Visitors booking hotels through 'Use It' often enjoy good discounts.

Where to Stay

Budget travellers looking for accommodation in Rotterdam will find several options presenting themselves. These include basic lodging at hostels along both the Rochussenstraat, and also the Van Vollenhovenstraat, close to the Erasmus Bridge and within the area known as the Scheepvaartkwartier. A further hostel along the Schaatsbaan provides a good standard of accommodation, although it is only open during the summer months, and also in January, when the well-supported Rotterdam International Film Festival takes place.

View of popular city hotelFor many holiday makers planning to stay in Rotterdam, central mid-range hotels provide the best option, with a number of good hotels located along the Kruiskade, and the Schaatsbaan, just a stone's throw from the Centraal Station (CS). Located within a rather green neighbourhood and near to the popular Museumplein, the Hotel Amar is always a good bet, as is the Stayokay Rotterdam on the Rochussenstraat and the waterborne Hotel Boat De Clipper, in the harbour itself, where the waterfront views couldn't come any better.

Luxury accommodation in Rotterdam is available for those who can afford it. Some of the very best hotels include the Eden Savoy on the Hoogstraat, and the Parkhotel, which is conveniently sited next to many of the main attractions. The Parkhotel Rotterdam may offer luxury accommodation, but since it caters for business people and short stays, last-minute deals are often on offer.
