Re. Simply delightful
I liked Garinish Island too, but Fota Wildlife Park is the most popular attraction for a reason. It hasn't been voted the best family day out for tourists in Cork and Munster for nothing! It has a wonderful 70 acre park and is also a lot closer to Cork at less than 11 miles.

Simply delightful
I don't care whether you call it Ilnacullin or by its other name, Garinish Island - this is hands-down the best attraction in Cork. Fair enough, it could be a lot closer to the town instead of 47 miles away, but the attraction is well worth the time and effort it takes to get there. The delightful gardens were the highlight for me.

Amazing look out point
I just had to head to Ireland's southernmost point, at Mizen Vision, upon arriving in Cork. This is an amazing look-out point and geologic formation that is 700 feet above the ocean! Great regardless of whether the famous Irish rain has reared its head or not while also easy to get to!

A gem
Of course, because I am Italian man, I am loving opera with great passion. Ireland not famous for opera, but they have lovely opera house here in Cork at Emmet Place. Such wonderful building! Unfortunately I did not see concert, but I will make sure I do next time!!

Something different
I'd never been to the track before, which is why I jumped at the chance to visit the Greyhound Stadium in Cork. Fair enough, it was quite far away from the town at over 130 miles and I didn't win any money, but the atmosphere and the chance to sample real Irish life was too good to turn down.
