Debrecen University
The University of Debrecen is an extremely historical Hungarian institution and was established almost 500 years ago - wow, that's old. It is Hungary's second biggest and has around 25,000 students. The main university building is some special, particularly the inner yard and its incredible arched glass roof.

The Hortobagy National Park
Looking for some different and away from Debrecen? Go to Hortobagy National Park. We got here in around 30 minutes and thoroughly enjoyed looking at all of the horses.

Views of the city from the Nagytemplom Tower
The staircase to the top of the Nagytemplom Tower is long, steep, wooden and very creaky. I can also guarantee that half way up you will think 'What am I doing - was this such a good idea?' You'll think it was when you get to the top though, I can assure you. You can see all across Debrecen. We could even see our hotel.
