Picture looking down on the Old Town SquareThe shopping opportunities in Tallinn present themselves at almost every corner in the city centre, allowing you to find the perfect Estonian souvenirs with ease.

When gift shopping in Tallinn, look out for the woollen pullovers (knitted by hand), the beer mugs carved from wood, the locally made jewellery, Kalev chocolate, Liviko strawberry liqueur, and various hand-painted confectionary.

A large number of the shops around central Tallinn and the Old Town area now open on Sundays, particularly during the peak tourist season. For locals, the SadaMarket close to the passenger port is a definite favourite and is a good place to find fashionable clothing and various cheap gifts.

Where to Shop

One of the most established department stores in Tallinn is Stockmann, on the Liivalaia and in the city centre. Spread over a number of different floors, at Stockmann you can find everything from clothes and shoes, to perfumes and groceries, along with a good cafe and its own car park.

However, many tourists visiting Tallinn tend to prefer the Western-style shopping malls, which are continually popping up.
