Visitors staying in Tallinn are often surprised at the fairly extensive selection of golf courses located close to the city, a number of which are less than 30 or 40 minutes away. One of the most picturesque golf courses close to Tallinn can be found within the resort capital of Otepää, which enjoys a stunning setting in the very heart of the Otepää Nature Park. The Otepää Golf Club (Otepää Golfiklubi) has become known for its rather unusual winter golf tournament and actively promotes year-round playing.

Playing a round of golf nearby Tallinn during the summer months also has the advantage of extremely length daylight hours, when the sun can set later than midnight and people often head to the courses during the balmy evenings.
