Falmouth Hotels and Accommodation

(Falmouth, Cornwall, England, UK)

Image of waterfrontFalmouth is a great place for a traditional family holiday and offers plenty of hotels and guesthouses to choose from. However, the best accommodation in Falmouth tends to get booked up well in advance, so if you are looking for beachfront hotels here in the summer, make sure that you reserve your room prior to your arrival.

Although hotel prices in Falmouth are at their most expensive between July and August, there are still a number of cheap accommodation options if you search them out. Also, if you are fortunate enough you may well be able to pick up some last-minute bargains. Those arriving in Falmouth without anywhere to stay should take a trip to the local tourist information centre on the Prince of Wales Pier, where the staff will be able to help you find available accommodation, using their contacts and computer system.

Where to Stay

A number of fairly small hotels, guesthouses and local B&Bs can be found lining much of Melvill Road and the nearby Avenue Road, such as the Trevoil Guest House. Close to the train station and in the Port Pendennis area of Falmouth, this guesthouse is slightly set back from the neighbouring harbour. Further hotels are located in this part of Falmouth, around Spernen Wyn Road, Cliff Road, Bar Road and Castle Drive.

Some of the best family run B&Bs in Falmouth are sited on Gyllingvase Hill and with a slightly elevated situation, feature en-suite rooms overlooking both Gyllingvase Beach and Falmouth Bay itself. Of particularly interest, the Chellowdene B&B features cheap, well-appointed rooms boasting truly breathtaking views, with the coastline, the promenade and its many attractions being just a short walk away, including Pendennis Castle, sited on the headland.
