Colourful Markets
In search of local treasures I headed to the Can Tho market on Ninh Pier. I found great souvenirs and gifts for my friends back home without spending too much money. Make sure that you take the time to see the old market hall and garden. Afterwards I checked out the new market, which is further up the river.

Re. Floating Markets
Another option is to take the Mystic Sampans cruise to the market, it costs more but you will travel in style and enjoy breakfast on the river.

Floating Markets
Following a friends advice we went to the Cai Rung floating market, which was an incredible experience. There were so many boats packed full of interesting goods that we didn't know what to buy. We rented a smaller boat so we could take our time and the rate was reasonable enough to fit into our tight budget. We made the mistake of arriving a bit late so I recommend that you go there at 6:00 to take in the whole experience.

Riverside Promenade
We took a walk along the riverside in the evening to enjoy the beautiful view and soak up the atmosphere of Can Tho. There were lots of places to eat in and we found a charming spot serving our favourite local dishes. This is also a great place to watch the sunset.

Fruit Orchards
It was well worth heading out of the capital to see all the fruit orchids and farms. There was so much to see, as this region is one of the biggest producers in the area.
