The numerous art galleries of Dubai come in a variety of different guises. Those looking to find some of the most authentic art galleries of a similar theme are advised to first come to the market of Bastakiya (Bastakia), which is situated within central Dubai and surrounded by a series of historical buildings, a number of which have been transformed into interesting art museums and gallery spaces, as well as restaurants and cafes.

Local artwork is found at the Green Art Gallery in good supply, while local handicrafts and international art is on hand at the Majlis Art Gallery. Also in Dubai and worth mentioning is Godolphin Gallery and the Four Seasons Ramesh, both of which have something very interesting and unique to offer tourists.

Majlis Art Gallery

Located in the historic Bastakiya (Bastakia) quarter, this museum opened in the 1970s and remains one of Dubai's most important. The serene courtyard alone is worth the visit, though the real treasures are found inside. The displays cover a myriad of artistic work including textiles, glasswork, ceramics and paintings. A prominent collection of Indian and French furniture is also on display.

Green Art Gallery

This relatively new gallery strives to cultivate compelling artwork at a grass-roots level. The institute provides a prominent venue for local artists, providing them with the resources to sharpen their talent. Green Art Gallery keeps its permanent collection on rotation, so you're likely to see different work when visiting in different seasons.

Godolphin Gallery

The Godolphin Gallery can be found within the grounds of the Nad Al Sheba racecourse and actually gets its name from a famous stallion, responsible for founding the Arabian thoroughbred of today. Those paying a visit to the Godolphin Gallery can expect to find paintings and photographs of an equestrian nature, along with an array of impressive trophies.

Four Seasons Ramesh Gallery

The Four Seasons Ramesh Gallery has grown to become not only one of the biggest art galleries in Dubai, but within the whole of the United Arab Emirates. A variety of art works are available for purchase and come in all shapes, sizes, mediums and prices. There is also a permanent collection on hand for you to browse at your own pace.
