Lansing Art Galleries
(Lansing, Michigan - MI, USA)
There is a small handful of galleries that will certainly stand out to avid art enthusiasts coming to Lansing, all of which boast free admission. Established in the middle of the 1960s and standing close to the State Hall, the Lansing Art Gallery is the oldest permanent venue of its kind to be found within the city.
The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum lies on the northern side of the Michigan State University campus, within East Lansing, where it opened as recently as late 2012 and was built as a replacement for the Kresge Art Museum. Named after the primary founders in this project, this gallery cost in the region of US$40 million to complete and is hard to miss, with its striking contemporary glass and steel architecture leaning at a strong angle.
The Creole Gallery is another well-respected and popular exhibition venue and is to be found on the northern side of the downtown district, standing close to Turner Park and the Grand River.
