Naples Hotels and Accommodation

(Naples, Florida - FL, USA)

Although Naples is home to some of the most expensive hotels and resorts in Florida, the city also features many reasonably priced accommodation options, particularly if you are prepared to sacrifice views of the Gulf of Mexico. Hotels in Naples tend to become more expensive as they approach the beach, especially during the high season, from December through April, when the finest accommodation quickly becomes fully booked.

Some of the best-value lodging comes in the form of 'apartment hotels' within the city's historic Old Naples district, which are often just a few blocks away from the scenic beachfront. Hotels are also liberally scattered around the Central Business District (CBD) and Tin City, around the bay, close to the pier, on the banks of the Gordon River and in nearby Pelican Bay, where a very notable golf course awaits.

Where to Stay

Further hotels in the Naples area can be found on the outskirts and also in nearby Floridian towns, cities and beach resorts, such as Bonita Springs (14 miles / 23 km), Cape Coral (35 miles / 56 km), Fort Myers (43 miles / 69 km), Marco Island (18 miles / 29 km) and Sanibel (42 miles / 68 km), amongst others.

Camping sites are a popular alternative to Naples hotels and the KOA site off Barefoot Williams Road is the nearest. Here you can pitch tents and even rent 'Kamping Kabins'. For RVs (recreational vehicles), the Rock Creek RV Resort on North Road offers excellent facilities and plenty of parking spaces.

The national brands of chain motels tend to be of a noticeably higher quality than their equivalents in other areas of southwestern Florida. Budget hotels in Naples are concentrated along 5th Avenue South, the Bedzel Circle, the Davis Boulevard, the Dudley Drive, the Tamiami Trail North and the Tollgate Boulevard. This budget accommodation includes the Baymont Inn and Suites, the Best Western Plaza, the Comfort Inn Downtown on the Bay, the Holiday Inn, the Red Roof Inn and Suites, and the Super 8 Motel.

Mid-range hotels in Naples are based around 9th Street North, 5th Avenue South, the Golden Gate Parkway, the Neapolitan Way, Pine Ridge Road and Vanderbilt Beach Road, where the boutique-style Inn at Pelican Bay comes highly recommended. Also of note is the three-star accommodation at the Bayfront Inn on 5th Avenue South, the Ramada Inn on the Tamiami Trail North, and the Quality Inn and Suites on the Golden Gate Parkway, which comes with its very own 18-hole golf course.

Luxury beachfront accommodation is plentiful in Naples and offers a combination of exceptional locations, coastal views and extensive facilities. Boasting sumptuous five-star lodging at its very best are no less than two Ritz Carlton hotels, located on the Tiburon Drive and Vanderbilt Beach Road. A little cheaper and still providing a high standard of accommodation is the four-star Grande Beach Resort on the Seagate Drive and the Edgewater Beach Hotel on the Gulfshore Boulevard North.
