Naples' Caribbean Gardens is a zoo and safari park rolled into one, and a very good one at that. Among the more exotic animal attractions represented at the Naples zoological gardens are rare Indochinese tigers, lions and leopards, kangaroos, alligators, and pythons on the primate islands. Boat safaris take visitors through tropical gardens to reach the Lake Victoria islands to view the monkeys and apes, while the Safari Canyon is an animal show accompanied by video and music. In addition, the Scales and Tails area allows patrons to handle various animals.

The Clam Pass County Park in Naples is a beach with a difference and getting here is by means of a boardwalk through a mangrove forest. Once there you can take in views of the surroundings from the observation tower, rent kayaks and canoes, or simply laze about on the sandy beach. If you don't fancy walking the near-mile boardwalk, a trolley is available from the parking lot to the beach attractions.

The Nature Center in Naples is well-put-together, like other nature centers in Southwest Florida run by the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, a non-profit organization. Attractions at the Naples Nature Center include a 3,000-gallon marine aquarium, a brilliant museum of natural history, a wildlife rehabilitation center, an aviary with bald eagles and many excellent trails.
