Little Rock National Airport (LIT) / Arriving by Air

Little Rock National Airport is situated at East 1 Airport Road, 5 miles / 8 km southeast of downtown on I-440. With 7 major airlines offering more than 150 daily flights to 18 national and international gateway cities, Little Rock enjoys excellent air travel connections. Taxi travel, limo services, bus transport and shuttles (both urban and state) are all on-hand on arrival to provide further transportation. There is no shortage of major car rental companies based here.

Car Rental

Coming from the southern states, take I-530 north, which will lead you right into Little Rock. Follow I-40 if you are approaching from the northwest or the east. Major car rental transport agencies that are available at Little Rock Airport include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty. Limousines may be hired from River City Limousine Service or Professional Limousines of Arkansas. Most of these travel agencies also have offices downtown. Little Rock's standard grid-pattern streets and east-west orientation makes driving in the city straightforward.

Streetcar / Trolley

River Rail Electric Streetcars uses restored 1940s trolley cars to travel between the two river cities of Little Rock and North Little Rock, via Main Street Bridge. There are 11 stops in total and this public transport service operates Monday to Wednesday from 11:00 to 22:00, Thursday to Saturday from 11:00 to 24:00 and on Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00.

Buses and Coaches

The Greyhound Coach Terminal can be found at 118 East Washington Street in North Little Rock (Tel: +1 501 372 3007). There are connections to all major cities. The station is open daily from 05:00 to 01:00. Central Arkansas Transit (tel: +1 501 375 1163) runs 21 bus routes within the city.

Trains

The Little Rock Amtrak Station is situated 0.3 miles northeast of downtown at Union Station Square, 1400 West Markham at Victory (tel: +1 501 372 6841). This station is open daily from 11:00 to 19:45. The nearest stops to the city of Little Rock are Malvern and Walnut Ridge, in Arkansas. Many rail travelers choose to arrive on the splendid Amtrak Texas Eagle.

Taxis
