Oludeniz Shopping and Districts

Oludeniz doesn't have the best shopping in Turkey, but there is a fair enough amount for those wishing to supplement their beach life. Souvenir shopping is a pastime here, with lots of cheap fake items such as sunglasses, watches and clothes.

You don't need to leave the beach area to shop, as there are several stores to keep you busy, although those looking for something extra with higher quality should head for Hisaronu. It has the same tourist tack as Oludeniz, as well as having higher quality, real items.

When to Shop and Where

You will find a decent supply of traditional Turkish souvenirs in Oludeniz, both down at the beach and in Hisaronu.

Clothes are the best buys in Oludeniz, including fake designer labels and even the real McCoy. The Turks are masters at churning out textiles, clothes and rugs, and leather goods are particularly in abundance.

Oludeniz is also big on carpets and jewellery, while knock-off watches, swanky sunglasses and similar goodies are widely available. The best of the shopping is in Hisaronu along the Carsi Caddesi, which is loaded up with shops selling everything from souvenirs to beachwear.

The beach at Oludeniz also has a decent range of souvenir shops, as does its hotels, but you get much better choice and prices at Hisaronu. For further options, consider taking a dolmus to Fethiye, where you can haggle for better bargains. The town of Fethiye is especially known for its carpets, leatherwear, glasses and cheap prices.
