Faro Shopping and Districts

(Faro, Algarve, Portugal)

Photo of leading Forum Algarve mallThere are a choice of different shopping opportunities to be found around the city of Faro, offering visitors a good selection of Portuguese souvenirs and wines. The majority of the shops in Faro tend to be clustered around the centrally located Rua de Santo Antonio and its Galerias Santo Antonio.

Nearby, further shopping is to be found along the Rua de Francisco Gomes, on the Rua de Portugal, on the Rua dos Letes, and within the Galerias Faro area. For market shopping, check out the Mercado de Faro in the very city centre, which is open daily each morning, from as early as 06:30, and closing at lunchtime.

Where to Shop

Many tourists holidaying here also favour the shopping available at the city's Forum Algarve, which is located in the direction of Faro Airport and contains a good selection of shops and designer clothing.

The majority of the stores here are under cover and spread out on two floors, staying open each day until 19:00 (or as late as midnight during the peak season).

Apart from the Jumbo hypermarkets, most of the stores here are on the small side, although do stock plenty of affordable goods. The Forum Algarve features a large underground parking area, although be warned - it gets very busy at the weekends.
