Portuguese Passion
My husband and I return every year to the Algarve mainly for the predictable good weather that is found here. It makes for the perfect break from the cold UK. My husband is a chef and he is always I awe of the quality of food here. We spend our time in local markets, devouring the fresh fruits and local delicacies on offer. Any food fanatic must visit here.

All about the Algarve
A frequent flyer to this part of the world, next year we have decided to actually rent a condo for a month here in Faro. A two week holiday here is just not enough, there is just so much to do if you like action or just lazing on the beach like me. Great weather too.

Stay in Faro
The provincial capital of Portugal has all you need. Most people don't actually spend enough time here in Faro, as they shoot off to one of the popular beach destinations. If resorts are not your thing, I recommend staying in Faro. There are some delightful cobbled streets aligned with 16th and 17th century crumbling buildings. The old Quarter is superb.

Chilling Churches
Faro has this really spooky church there, you should go check it out. There is this inscription above the entrance that translated into English reads 'stop here and think of the fate that will befall you'. Spooky! It is really lavish and also scarily holds 1,245 skeletal remains from former monks, a bit creepy but totally fascinating.

Re: Chilling Churches
I went here last year with my family. I found that the church itself was a stunning building and not creepy at all. It was a little lavishly adorned for my taste. Although the idea of the skeletal remains is a bit eerie; I didn't get freaked out by it at all. I actually felt pretty calm here.
