Re. Iberian paradise
Depends what you're after I suppose, but I found Olhos de Agua to be the best beach in Albufeira. It was considerably closer to the centre of the town than Praia Gale was too, at just 3.4 km.

Iberian paradise
We were told that the best beach in the area was around 4 km from Albuferia at Praia Gale. I wouldn't argue with any claims of it being the best and once you can look past the smattering of low-rise hotels, there is plenty of green scenery for you to marvel at whenever lapping up the soft sand.

A great day out for all
We took a taxi one morning and asked the driver to lead us to the Zoomarine Algarve in Guia. Fair enough, it was no Seaworld or Discovery Centre but it definitely provided value for money and everyone in our party enjoyed seeing some dolphins and sea lions in addition to all the tropical birds they had there too.

Charming
I've been to numerous Old Town areas of European destinations and can safely say that the one in Albufeira is among my favourites while being more than worth the effort it takes to walk to its centre. Not just about museums and old monuments as there is also a beautiful beach nearby.

The only thing that kept our nine year old twins quiet!
The Adventure Park was easy to find at just two miles from Albufeira city centre, or maybe it is because we were that determined to find something that would keep our nine year old twins occupied for a while! Anyway, once we arrived they loved the zip lines, rope bridges, and skateboard-related tasks in store for them.
