Manila Art Galleries

(Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines)

Quiapo Church photographMajor art galleries are not especially prevalent within Manila and venues offering aesthetic works tend to be small and privately owned. At the San Agustin Museum, however, visitors can view a wide variety of religious paintings and statues, making this a firm favourite among art lovers in Manila.

The city of Manila is conveniently close to a number of nearby destinations, many of which contain a selection of further art galleries. It is actually within Pasig City, just a short drive away, where the very highly recommended Lopez Memorial Museum (LMM) can be found. Along the MH del Pilar Street in the Ermita area, a huge selection of shops can be found selling paintings, and although these are very mass produced for the tourist market, the quality is reliably good.
