Bakersfield Hotels and Accommodation

(Bakersfield, California - CA, USA)

For prospective visitors planning a trip to Bakersfield and looking for somewhere to stay, there are plenty of hotels that are worthy of your consideration. Accommodation is located in the city center, as well as close by, where hotels often line the surrounding highways, such as the Golden State Highway (CA-99) to the south.

Located right next to the Golden State Highway and roughly a ten-minute drive from downtown Bakersfield is the Holiday Inn Express Hotel. This particular Holiday Inn resides on Hughes Lane, being close to Motel 6 South and also the Howard Johnson Inn, both of which are to be found on White Lane and within close proximity to the New Life Apostolic Church.

Also in this part of Bakersfield is the Super 8 Motel, where budget lodging and a reasonable standard of accommodation results in good occupancy levels. However, recent reviews on TripAdvisor and Google+ are quite mixed.

Where to Stay

Located on the northwesterly outskirts of Bakersfield is a noticeable cluster of local hotels, which are in particularly good supply around the junction of the Golden State Highway and the Rosedale Highway. Here you will find familiar accommodation brands like Courtyard, Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn and SpringHill Suites. All of these hotels are just a short drive away from Bakersfield and can be found standing along Marriott Drive.

Just down the road and situated on the Camino Del Rio Court, the Comfort Suites and the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel provide further competitively priced lodging rates. Across the Rosedale Highway and next to the Kern River, the Best Western Crystal Palace Inn and the La Quinta Inn Bakersfield South may appeal to the more budget conscious traveler.

In downtown Bakersfield itself, hotels are located along roads such as 18th Street, 19th Street and H Street, with the Padre Hotel being sited on 18th Street.

Especially popular is the Historic Downtowner Inn on Chester Avenue, which is close to a branch of Starbucks and directly south of Bakersfield City Hall, being separated by the city's railway line. The Historic Downtowner Inn comes with 50 en-suite guest rooms, undercover parking, conference facilities and an outdoor swimming pool.
