An affordable, family-run alternative to the bustle and expense of Disneyland, Adventure City is a mini-city of adventure for children with many attractions, including nine interesting amusement rides, hands-on stage shows, a games arcade, petting farm and much candy and popcorn.

Disneyland

The original Disney theme park was opened by the visionary Walt Disney in 1955 and is perhaps the world's most loved theme park. Home of the classic Disney characters Mickey Mouse and Snow White, Anaheim's park encompasses eight themed lands including Main Street USA, Adventureland, New Orleans Square, Critter Country, Frontierland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, as well as 60 major rides plus numerous shops and restaurants. Entertainment is seemingly endless and other attractions at the park include non-stop parades and much frivolity, not to mention the magnificent fireworks display each night.

Disneyland's next door neighbor is set on a 55-acre / 22-hectare site and entry is included in the ticket price for the main park. The park celebrates the California experience with three themed lands - the Golden State, Paradise Pier and Hollywood Pictures Backlot. The main attractions at Anaheim's Disneyland California Adventure include the California Screamin' rollercoaster, with its loop-de-loop; Pacific Wharf and the Grizzly Peak rapids. Other notable attractions are a display of California's aviation heritage and the giant Sun Wheel, which provides fantastic views of the park.

Angel 'A' Stadium of Anaheim

Anaheim's Angel 'A' Stadium is a vast ballpark, with a seating capacity of around 45,000 and parking more than 12,500 cars. Hosting many popular baseball games, the Angel stadium has recently been renovated and other attractions include three restaurants, a dugout area for seating and a giant 'A' frame scoreboard, earning it the nickname of 'Big A'.

Knott's Berry Farm Theme Park

The idea behind Knott's Berry Farm goes farther back than that of Disneyland and it was actually a real farm in the early 20th century. While it doesn't have the same allure as Disneyland, Knott's will appeal to rollercoaster lovers, with its altogether faster and more thrilling rides. There are six themed areas with incredible rides such as Supreme Scream, a plunging tower ride, the 80 mph Xcelerator and the wooden GhostRider rollercoaster. There are many more attractions and younger kids will especially enjoy Camp Snoopy.

Knott's Soak City USA Water Park

Lying adjacent to Knott's Berry Farm, Knott's Soak City USA is a seasonal park of water rides that is in the theme of 1950s Southern California beaches. Star attractions here include 16 slides and tubes of varying descriptions, a three-quarter of a million gallon wave pool and a long, lazy river.

Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament
