Re. Excellente
I think that you'd also enjoy La Fortaleza. Maybe you've been before though if your wife is from here? It was also made to defend our home. It has 40 rooms. It is World Heritage Site. We love it so much. Viva Puerto Rico!

Excellente
The El Morro - Castillo de San Felipe del Morro - is my favourite attraction in San Juan and I make sure that I pay a visit to it every time I take my wife to see her relatives down there in Puerto Rico. Amazing that it was built in the 17th century to defend this small but proud country. Not for those that are afraid of heights though!

Lovely for a morning walk
Our hotel was quite some way from the Paseo de La Princesa, but that didn't stop me returning there for a morning walk every day of our time in San Juan. This is a wonderfully-restored esplanade that takes you through Old San Juan.

The Old Town
The old town - or El Viejo San Juan as the locals call it - is unforgettable and I beg you not to find something to enjoy within its confines. One for the architecture buffs more than anyone else though, as this part of the city has at least 400 buildings that are still standing to this day!

A great venue
Anyone that has an interest in enjoying some fine Puerto Rican music, or a theatre production, must make sure that a visit to Bellas Artes is on their itinerary. We enjoyed a wonderful salsa evening and it was fantastic to see how much of a good time Puerto Ricans love to have.
