Quiet and Quaint
We very much liked our trip to Costa Rica and were happy to see less people in Puntarenas. Very nice and make for our happy holiday, but the hotel rooms were not always kept in great condition.

Impressive and Small
We were very happy to see the clear water and to enjoy the nice weather. It is quite different to much of the rest of the country. Many of the resorts also have nice pools - it is an excellent location.

Perfect Honeymoon Scenery and Great Eats
Aside from the obvious stunning scenery, the food and people are what make this place special. My wife and I went here on our honeymoon as a way to avoid the same tourists hotspots. It was pretty quiet, but we enjoyed how laid back everyone was. We found some great seafood restaurants along the coast which made it just romantic enough. The less populated beaches were a great bonus too.

Re. Stunning Coral Reef
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the diving - was thinking of doing it myself and was wondering about the qualifications / safety of the dive shops. They seem to be alright from what I hear?

Stunning Coral Reef
The diving was very nice here though some beaches are not so beautiful like the pictures. The Garden coral reef spot was interesting. We visited Drake Bay to book our dive though some problems communicating to our taxi driver.

Super Locale with Excellent Beaches
My friends and I found it very difficult to book the accommodations we were looking for online. A bit of a disappointment really, but we were able to find some fun locations in Puntarenas on our own by having a look around. We found the locals to be lovely and helpful and the beaches were absolutely gorgeous. Our favourite bit was the local zip line adventure.
