Re: Medieval Madness
It was just too touristy for us. I also loved the cobbled streets, but when we went to the market place it was just too crowded. We also had to queue for over 20mins to get into a museum there.

Medieval Madness
Some claim that Rothenburg is a little like a medieval reconstruction of a town and although it is very much aimed at tourists, and has a medieval feel we didn't feel it was over the top. In fact, the quaint and old buildings and cobbled streets were really enchanting.

Villa Mittermeir
For a bit of romance and class, my husband and I headed to the recommended Michelin starred Villa Mittermeir where we feasted on locally produced and locally harvested goods. Probably the best place we frequented in the area.

Klosterstuble
In an old hunting lodge, it has a modern counterpart boasting a first rate restaurant. They sell feel top notch Italian food. The wines were the best in the area. All in all they were of high standard.

Market Square
The center of Rothenburg and where all of the more modern part of life in Rothenburg occurs. Framed by the Town Hall it is beautifully surrounded with great architecture and filled with marvelous cafes and restaurants. The fountain makes for a nice setting to sip a coffee whilst watching the people pass by.
