Re. One of the most popular Chennai landmarks
Just wondering if you had time to see Santhome Cathedral? I know you said you are interested in temples and shrines, but it is a lovely building that has been around since the Portuguese were there in the 14th century.

One of the most popular Chennai landmarks
Although I'll always be a Christian, the shrines of other religions, particularly those in Asia, have always fascinated me. I enjoyed Kapaleeshwar Temple the most in Chennai. If that's because it is dedicated to my favourite god, Shiva, I'm not sure!

Heart-wrenching but necessary
I asked to be taken to the poorest part of Chennai and ended up in Mylapore. It was a truly heartbreaking experience walking around the neighbourhood but entirely necessary for us westerners as I think we often take what we have for granted.

Re. The Bollywood Experience
You can try Escape Cinemas too if you visit again. A lovely theatre and better maintained than Sathyam in my opinion.

The Bollywood Experience
You don't need to have been to India before to know that the locals are crazy about movies and I wanted to capture their enthusiasm in a single afternoon if possible, which is why I headed to Sathyam Cinemas. I opted for a Tamil movie, which didn't have English subtitles, but there are some western titles running too.
