There are plenty of intriguing museums spread around the Napa Valley, which allow you to punctuate day trips to the endless vineyards and learn a little more about the local Californian history. The most popular museums are located within the main resorts and towns of Calistoga, Healdsburg, Napa, Petaluma, Santa Rosa, St. Helena and also Yountville, covering topics from natural history and wildlife, to genealogy, art and culture, the mid-19th century gold rush, and of course the valley's world-famous winemaking past.
